How To Identify Fakes

An estimated 3/4 of all #Shungite sold worldwide is fake. This video will show how to identify fake shungite.

Shungite has an electrical resistance of zero. Counterfeit Shungite always fails at this test, which is why I hand test every stone with a multi-meter. I video record each testing and present it online in the product's image gallery for you to view. I know of no better way than this to insure that you can be assured that you are getting genuine Shungite.

The following is a test from another vendor on YouTube attempting to prove that his rock is real by performing the multimeter test. Unfortunately, it fails. He cannot get it to go to zero, even by probing all over the rock (which never works).

Hematite is commonly used in fake shungite. It's black, and looks quite similar, shatters in a jagged pattern, but it is made of mostly iron oxide. It is of no use energetically. Hematite is mixed in with real shungite, so that some of the rocks are real, and some are duds. Hematite is one of the most abundant minerals on earth, whereas Shungite is one of the rarest anywhere on earth.

Fakes are easy to spot if you know what to look for. For example, here is a product sold on Amazon. You can see how the black coating has spilled over the hook.

Most of the products that I've tested on Amazon were either fake, or had non-real shungite added to the shipment. The only way to know is to painstakingly hand-test each stone, one at a time.

Authentic Shungite from Russia will come with taxes due. In Canada, it has a duty of 850%.
