Most of all Shungite sold online is fake. Here are some examples:

Genuine Shungite has zero electrical resistance. Counterfeit Shungite will always fail this test, which is why I personally test every stone with a multimeter. I record each testing session and upload the video to the product's image gallery for you to view. This is the most reliable method I know to ensure that you are getting authentic Shungite.

Below is a video from another vendor on YouTube attempting to prove that his rock is real by performing the multimeter test. Unfortunately, it fails. He is unable to achieve a zero reading, despite probing the rock from different angles (which is a method that never works).

Hematite

Hematite is commonly used in fake Shungite. While it’s black and visually similar to Shungite, it shatters in a jagged pattern and is primarily composed of iron oxide. Hematite has no energetic properties and is often mixed with real Shungite, resulting in a mix of genuine stones and duds. Hematite is one of the most abundant minerals on earth, while Shungite is one of the rarest.

Amazon

Fakes are easy to spot if you know what to look for. For example, here's a product sold on Amazon where you can see how the black coating has spilled over onto the hook.

Most of the products I've tested from Amazon were either fake or contained non-genuine Shungite mixed in. The only way to ensure authenticity is to meticulously hand-test each stone, one by one.

Official Lab Certification Type 1 Elite

Verified Shungite's products are certified by an independent testing lab in Karelia, Russia. This analysis shows our Fullerene content at 97.8% for our elite raw stones (see 2nd column to the last, C60). This is the best of the best.

Each of our raw elite stones, whether a pendant or loose stone, is presented here with photos and a video clip showing the weight, appearance/size, and electrical conductivity. Each stone has a unique serial number and comes with a certificate of origin.

Always ask to see lab certification of authenticity from your vendor before buying Shungite. Cheap Shungite is fake and offers no benefit whatsoever.

Official Lab Certification Type 2

Our highly effective Type 2 Shungite is used for manufacturing jewelry, cell plates, pendants, tile bracelets, Mala Beads and beaded pearl jewelry as examples. It is more durable but still packs a huge concentration of these helpful Fullerene allotropes. Refer to the second to the last column, under "c60" you will see a result of 75.7% Carbon. This is as pure as it gets for Type 2.
