QUESTION: If I want to protect an area, how large of a Shungite piece should I get? Like to put near the router?
“Perimeter” protection is a myth. Shungite doesn’t cast a magic radius. It works best through direct contact and continuous proximity. If you park a stone by your router then walk ten feet away, you’re now next to other emitters (smart bulbs, Alexa, printers, chargers, etc.). I break this down in a short video (inverse-square law, common misconceptions): watch here.
QUESTION: Is there Customs Duties tax when shipping to the United States?
For individual shipments to the U.S., there is no duty on purchases under $800. Details: U.S. CBP.
QUESTION: Where should I attach the Shungite plates on my laptop and cell phone?
Phone: Mount plates on the back of the phone, outside the case so your fingertips naturally touch them while using the phone. Wear bracelets on the phone-holding wrist if possible. And put the phone in Airplane Mode whenever you’re not actively using it.
Laptop: Place two plates beneath each wrist (no adhesive needed) so you’re in contact while typing. Avoid resting the laptop directly on your lap.
QUESTION: How susceptible are Shungite stones to breaking if dropped (for teens, etc.)?
Elite / Type 1 is more brittle than glass (amazing, but fragile). Type 2 is more durable for active wear. Don’t wear Type 1 for sports or anything high-impact—it will break.
QUESTION: Does Shungite need to touch skin, or can I wear it under clothing?
Best on bare skin and on touching your chakras. I did a static test: rubbing feet on carpet then touching a grounded mylar sheet. Without Shungite I got a sharp zap; holding Shungite—no zap; holding Shungite through cloth—small zap. Direct contact grounds better. That said, for counter-spin influences, it still helps over a thin layer of clothing.
Here is a video that I recorded to explain the conductivity points of chakras, and why this is the ideal place for Shungite to touch you for maximum effect:
QUESTION: What Shungite is recommended to energize and purify a litre of water?
I use clean certified stones, with not plastic present. I have two products which are ideal for infusing water, they are here:
. Typical ratio I like is about 10 g per 16 oz (≈500 ml). Let it infuse 6–8 hours (overnight is ideal). Do not boil stones (heating can generate singlet oxygen—avoid).
To quantify the shift, use an ORP meter (Oxidation-Reduction Potential). Most waters read positive (oxidizing), often +300 to +600 mV. With genuine Shungite I commonly see a drop of ~60–100 mV within ~30 minutes in side-by-side tests.
Note: Shungite alters oxidative potential and feel/taste; it does not remove dissolved solids (your TDS won’t go to zero). Always use stones with verified sourcing and up-to-date lab certs to avoid heavy-metal issues seen in Type 3 material. My stones are batch-tested and certified.
At-Home ORP Water Test (quick)
- Two identical glass jars + same distilled water.
- Add stones to one jar; leave the other as a control.
- Wait 15–30 minutes; measure both with an ORP meter (e.g., EZ-9910).
- Rinse the meter probe with clean distilled water between readings.
Looking for a measurable drop in the Shungite jar versus the control.
QUESTION: For a normal bathtub, how many elites do I need?

I keep a cereal-bowl of elites in the tub continuously and soak (no soaps/shampoos during an infusion soak). Smaller stones are fine—and have more surface area—just keep them >10 g so they don’t slip into the drain. I often leave water overnight to steep. Do not boil stones.
QUESTION: Can I wear Shungite in the shower?
I wear mine constantly—I feel naked without it. The black “dust” you’ll sometimes see is carbon (fullerene/graphitic) residue. It’s normal. You don’t need to “recharge” Shungite or wash it obsessively, and definitely don’t boil it.
QUESTION: Gary, how do you personally use Shungite?
Wearables + water. I wear an Elite Type 1 pendant (between throat and solar plexus), a tile bracelet on each wrist, and I carry a large flat Elite in each pocket. For water I use ~10 g stones per 16 oz; the water tastes “silkier,” and my ORP meter shows a measurable drop after infusion. And I cannot ever be without my Mala Beads - click here for my collection!
QUESTION: Should I place Shungite near my WIFI router?
No. Do a quick home scan with a tri-field meter and you’ll see many strong sources: smart bulbs, speakers, thermostats, printers, chargers, etc. Putting a pyramid next to just one source is like plugging one hole in a leaky dam. The better approach: minimize unnecessary emitters and keep Shungite on you. QUESTION: What is the black dust?
Fullerenes/graphitic carbon. It looks messy but it’s simply carbon residue. Shungite powders are used in EMF-blocking paints and other applications. (You’ll also see carbon/fullerene research in my references.)
QUESTION: What do you mean by “synthetics”?
I use “synthetics” for man-made influences (AC electricity, microwaves, plastics, etc.). My framework: nature’s spin vs. synthetic counter-spin. Shungite’s fullerene structure supports the body by countering disruptive spin and harmonizing your electrical environment.
QUESTION: What are chakras? How do crystals interact?
Think of chakras as low-resistance, high-conductivity points—your body’s “ports.” Some crystals can encourage frequency-following response (FFR) at these nodes. With Shungite, I view it primarily as preventative: it neutralizes counter-spin so your system can return to its own baseline rhythm. I like placing larger Elites on the third eye, throat, heart, and below the navel during meditation.
QUESTION: What device do you use to test conductivity?
A simple digital multimeter (AstralAI type works great). Set resistance to 200K Ω. Touch the probes together—reading should jump from “1” to “0” (confirms contact). Touch one stone at two points—authentic Shungite gives a 0.00 reading on my tests.
Important: Never ingest raw black fullerene powder unless it’s truly nano-sized (7–9 nm). Large particles can burden the liver. Never boil Shungite stones (singlet oxygen risk). Use only certified stones to avoid heavy-metal issues seen in Type 3 material.
