The Bird on the Wire — The Shungite Medium, Chapter 8

The Illness and the Discovery · Chapter summary · from The Shungite Medium by Gary Fong
I could not explain the birds on the power lines. I wondered whether they were boiling up cancers and not living long enough to succumb. Then I watched one drop off the wire. Dead birds collect underneath high-tension towers. The research pointed at one variable: how much porphyrin an organism carries.
Porphyrins are ring-shaped molecules, four pyrrole rings linked by methine bridges, with an iron atom binding in the central pocket to form heme. They sit inside every cell of every animal, bind iron and oxygen into hemoglobin, and take part in mitochondrial energy production. They are also photoreactive and translucent, absorbing energy and glowing in the dark. When radiation strikes a porphyrin it takes a while to cool off, the way a tungsten filament dims slowly after the switch goes off, and while it sits in that activated state it cannot bind heme, iron and oxygen into hemoglobin.
That is the bird that fell. People the medical literature calls electromagnetically hypersensitive, or EHS, carry an abundance of porphyrins: more sites for incoming radiation to be absorbed, more disruption of normal hemoglobin assembly. That is the leading hypothesis for why some individuals collapse where others feel nothing. I learned the hard way that I am one of the sensitive ones, and that people I have known with remarkable intuitive ability suffer more porphyria symptoms. A body dense with photoreactive porphyrins absorbs more Universal Light Energy, and the same density leaves it more afflicted by synthetic radiation. The complaints run to migraines, dry eyes and a ringing in the ear that will not go away, stronger in some cities and parts of town. The variable is inside the body.
From the chapter
I remember when I started to really become aware that electric fields were potentially damaging to living things, I couldn't explain all of the birds that perch on power lines. Why were they unaffected? Or were they boiling up cancer as they sat there, but none would live long enough to succumb to it? Then one day, I saw a bird drop dead off the wire, dead as he fell. Search the internet for dead birds near power sources and you will see a gruesome testimony to the killing power of high-energy electrons. You will see them directly underneath high-tension towers. The answer, as far as the research suggests, is the amount of porphyrin in each organism. Porphyrins are ring-shaped molecules. They are inside every cell of every animal, including yours. They bind iron and oxygen into hemoglobin, the molecule that carries oxygen through your blood. They are involved in energy production in the mitochondria. They are essential to life.
