Kelowna and the Microwave on My Head — The Shungite Medium, Chapter 6

The Illness and the Discovery · Chapter summary · from The Shungite Medium by Gary Fong

In 2000, after a company I helped found sold, I tried an early retirement at forty-two and moved to Kelowna, British Columbia. The town was about a hundred thousand people then. Then, at my desk in the spring of 2020, I started to feel very sick. A metallic taste in my mouth. Tight pressure behind my eyes. A new anxiety out of nowhere. I had been healthy into my sixties, and the MRI I had done at fifty was clean.

I bought an EMF meter. Phones and routers read high, but when I pointed it at a small tower concealed on a rooftop two blocks from my home, the meter pegged, well above the published Canadian safety code. That was more than a year before the city said 5G out loud. On June 1, 2020, Kelowna announced a 5G Smart City pilot with Rogers Communications and the University of British Columbia, to monitor garbage bins, parking and pedestrian flow. No consultation. No vote. Brussels had paused its own rollout pending health review. After I posted my radiation readings from Bernard Avenue on YouTube, an installer wrote to me anonymously with photographs of the towers he was building.

I studied radiology and nuclear medicine at UCLA Medical School, so I knew shielding. A microwave oven carries a steel mesh in its door to stop 2.4-gigahertz radiation escaping. One afternoon I unplugged mine, opened the door and put my head inside. The ringing in my ears subsided, the pressure behind my eyes softened, my breathing eased. Then I bought the stickers, pyramids and pendants sold as protection, pointed the meter at each one, and watched the readout not move.

From the chapter

This is the part that matters: if a company tells you their device "protects" you within a ninety-three-foot perimeter, what physics distinguishes ninety-three feet from ninety-four? Or one hundred? Or two hundred? The cell tower outside is sending the same wave to every distance. The wave does not know it has crossed the edge of someone's marketing claim. Shungite is not exempt from this physics. It is not a force-field generator. And it is not a whole-body shield. A pendant worn on your chest interacts with your entire electrical system by accessing a high-conductivity area of your skin, as if it were plugging into a USB port of your nervous system. A plate placed between your phone and your hand reduces what reaches your hand from that phone. Water filtered through shungite is a different mechanism altogether, the structured carbon interacts with the water itself, which you then drink. All of these are real, local, partial interactions. That is the entire mechanism. Not a bubble. Not a perimeter. Not a force field. Not a whole-body shield.
