The Body of Evidence — The Shungite Medium, Chapter 19

The Mechanism and the Practice · Chapter summary · from The Shungite Medium by Gary Fong
I built this chapter out of paper, not memory: letters, lab reports and analyses, dated and scannable, personal details redacted.
The file opens in November 2017 with a diabetes diagnosis at fifty-seven. In January 2018 Keith, an ophthalmologist, wrote back: corrected vision 20/25 and 20/20, no diabetic eye changes, pressures of 13 and 15 mmHg, cup-to-disc ratios of 0.9 and 0.8, and Glaucoma Suspect. By November 2018 the testing was in. Two laser surgeries had left my corneas thin enough that the pressure test read artificially low, the visual fields showed the loss, and the chart read Open Angle Glaucoma, both eyes. He told me I was going blind, and that it was not reversible.
In June 2020 I put a walnut-sized stone in a glass jar of water overnight, out of curiosity about the Tsar, not as treatment. It became a routine: a glass on an empty stomach each morning, refills all day, a pendant that stayed on. The September 2020 exam read 11 and 13: stable without further deterioration. By 2024: pressure controlled, no further glaucomatous progression, no drops. A February 2024 panel put my Hemoglobin A1c at 5.8 percent, inside the lab's range of 4.5 to 5.9, on no blood sugar medication, no dramatic weight loss, no change in diet. DHEA had fallen from 12.5 to 4.4.
I sent the records to Consensus, an engine that reads the peer-reviewed literature. It called diabetes remission without medication or surgery uncommon, the glaucoma stability uncommon, and summarized the file as suggesting age reversal or significantly slowed biological aging. I know what that is and what it is not: one file, no control group, correlation only.
From the chapter
Then there is the lab report dated February 29, 2024, ordered by my friend and physician, Grant.. On the second page, circled, is a number called Hemoglobin A1c: 5.8 percent. A1c is the long-term measure of blood sugar, a rolling three-month average, the number diabetes is diagnosed and tracked by. The lab's own reference key, printed on the form, draws the lines: 4.5 to 5.9 is normal. 6.0 to 6.4 is prediabetes. 6.5 and above is diabetes. In November of 2017, I was diagnosed diabetic. In February of 2024, I measured 5.8, not at the edge of normal, but inside it. Between those two dates I took no medication for blood sugar, lost no dramatic weight, and made no change to how I ate. The rest of the panel held its lines. The white blood cell count sat at 8.0, mid-range. The immune cells, neutrophils, lymphocytes, monocytes, each inside their reference bands. And one more line from the file: DHEA, a hormone whose elevation signals endocrine stress, measured 12.5 in 2017 — high. Three years before the first jar of water. By 2024 it had settled to 4.4, the middle of the healthy range.
