USB Ports of the Body — The Shungite Medium, Chapter 10

The Stone and the Evidence · Chapter summary · from The Shungite Medium by Gary Fong
I built this chapter as the evidence for one claim: the body is wired, and it has input ports. I started with physiology nobody argues with. The heart is electrical, which is why the instrument that reads it is called an electrocardiogram. The brain is electrical, and its instrument is an electroencephalogram. Every nerve impulse is a voltage gradient moving along a fiber at up to two hundred and fifty miles per hour. Strip the chemistry and the wiring alone is still an electrical instrument.
That electricity is not spread evenly across the skin. At certain spots conductivity measurably differs from the tissue beside it, reproducibly. I found them with a fifty-dollar multimeter set to resistance mode, one probe on the back of the hand and the other at the center of the palm. Move the second probe an inch and the number changes. At the third eye and the crown the reading was reproducibly lower. Electroacupuncture researchers have mapped these points since the 1950s; the Japanese physician Yoshio Nakatani built the Ryodoraku method on twenty-four of them to read organ-system stress.
I laid that map over the older ones: the seven primary chakras, the three hundred and sixty-odd points on the Chinese acupuncture meridians, the East Asian reflex zones. A substantial fraction line up point for point. I kept the limit explicit. The meter reading is one thing and the theology another, and physiology explains the points more cautiously, through fascial planes, sweat-gland density and autonomic nerve endings. What the points establish is why the stone is worn at the chest, the wrist, the back of the phone.
From the chapter
This is the practical answer to a question every reader of this book has at some point asked: why is shungite worn at specific places on the body? Why is the pendant on the chest? Why is the plate on the phone? Why the bracelet on the wrist? Because those are the points where the body's own electrical activity meets the external electromagnetic environment most strongly. The chest sits over the heart, the largest electrical generator in the body, the only organ powerful enough that a meter reading it from the surface of the skin is a routine medical procedure. The wrist is where you measure pulse for the same reason: the electrical signal is strong there, near a surface artery and a dense bundle of nerves. The phone in your hand is a deliberate radio transmitter pressed against tissue that runs on its own electrical signaling. Whether or not those two systems interact in the way critics fear, they are physically adjacent and electrically active at the same time. A piece of conductive carbon worn at one of these high-activity points is not decorative jewelry. It is a physical object placed at a physical location where the body's electricity and the environment's electricity meet.
